17 cards in one day!

Yesterday I had a super papercraft day.
Here are the cards I made:

Using Lavinia stamps

Using Magnolia Stamps
Using Gorgeous Girls stamps

Using Leanne Ellis Stamp designs

Using High Hopes Stamps

Using Canelle boy stamps

Using Elisabeth Bell Sweet Art stamps

[The photos don't do the cards justice. I must look into how to get the lighting right so I can show them at their best.]

It's rare to get a few hours that I can spend solely on papercrafting- it was a real treat. I ended up feeling completely relaxed and very happy with what I'd made. I hope it's not too long before I can do it again...

Until next time

Lucky escape

Today my husband had a lucky escape but someone else wasn't so lucky. This morning a car pulled out of a junction and drove straight into the side of the car in front of him. The car that was hit went onto the other side of the road, rode up a bank and was flipped onto its roof. We hope the driver makes a rapid recovery. One phrase went straight into my head when my husband phoned me; "there but for the grace of God goeth I". Perhaps this is another reminder to live each day to the full as you don't know what may happen tomorrow.

Moving on. I promised a show and tell of this weeks craft projects so here they are. I made (and finished) three cards. The cards involve stamping, colouring with Copic Ciaos and die cutting. They feature three of my favourite stamp companies and are all fairly straightforward to make.

Magnolia Bon Voyage Indian Tilda

Gorjuss Balloon Girl

Lavinia Stamps Small Pixies with a variety
of foliage stamps for the border

I've got a bit to learn about how to photograph cards but I'm pleased with the cards themselves. They are my style rather than a copy of what someone else has designed, and I would feel happy to give them to someone for a special occasion.

I'm now deciding what to make for the next project, so until next time

I'm setting myself a target

Today has been a tough day and I haven't had time for any crafting, and that has left me feeling a bit down. I know it has been unavoidable and I suppose I could be doing some now instead of blogging but....

Anyway here's some craft thoughts for today.

My favourite  papercraft styles:- steam punk, nature, vintage, fantasy and occasionally cute

My favourite papercraft techniques:- stamping, colouring, die cutting, distressing

My favourite stamp companies:- Lavinia stamps, Magnolia, Paper Artsy

My biggest craft weakness:- finishing any craft project!!!

So what I intend to do is to set some SMART targets.

SMART targets are:-
Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Realistic
Timed

So my SMART target is to make one paper craft project every week. Well, that wasn't too difficult, and hopefully will provide the incentive to get some things finished. I  should be able to post one completed project by Sunday.

Time to get planning...  But first here is a beautiful view from the beach at St Mawes on the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall with Pendennis and St Mawes Castles in the background. It is one of my family's favourite places to visit each summer. I love the way the sun is playing on the ripples of the sea in this photo; it creates a feeling of total relaxation reminding me of a lazy summer afternoon.
A beautiful view at St Mawes

Bye for now
