Craft Day

Today I had a day off work (due to a teacher training day which I didn't have to attend- yippee!!!) so I spent the day crafting. I planned to make and complete some cards or a mini book but, as usual, I got so involved with playing with die cutting and inks, I didn't finish anything.

Some of my fabulous Spellbinders and Marianne D dies.
They are so easy to use in my Cuttlebug.

I cut loads of my favourite shapes from thin white silk  card.

My work area- as you can see I really like Distress Inks!

Mixing and blending the inks gives some really good results.

So now I have a box of topper style pieces ready to go on some cards or in some mini books. I may not have finished anything but I had a lot of fun!

Until next time

Messy Hands

I love to get messy, not gardening messy but inky fingers messy. Today I've been playing around with Dye Reinkers, Glimmer Mists and Cosmic Shimmer Mists.

The result is lots of new background papers for stamping on later and very stained fingers which still look dirty despite a lot of washing. Just as well I'm not making anything for tea needing clean hands tonight. Maybe I shouldn't be the one cooking tonight....

Oh so dirty!

Visiting family

The boys with Amber

We've been away for a few days visiting my parents in Surrey. They live on the edge of the beautiful Witley Common. When we visit we often go for a long walk over the Common with whoever is around.  (This time I asked to keep it to a short walk of about an hour as we have been known to be out for three hours sometimes).
For my youngest, one of the highlights was walking his Aunty Sharon's sweet little dog Amber.

On the way home Sean got some fashion tips from his middle brother--- what a trend setter!!!

So why start a blog

Yesterday my husband suggested I start a blog to pull together all the things I enjoy. I've decided in my usual way to dive in and give it a try. I have no idea what it will turn out like but, as they say, "nothing ventured, nothing gained".

I  fill my life with many things and have many ideas. I want to blog these things  simply to enjoy doing so. I've been keeping a journal using the Momento app on my IPod Touch for a while and so starting a blog seems like the next step.

I probably should promise to blog on some kind of regular schedule, but who needs that kind of stress- I'll just do it my way...

Be good
